Who we are

Delta K9 Training didn't begin as a business—it began as a group of trainers and passionate dog owners who wanted to build stronger relationships with our dogs.

From the beginning, our focus has been on community, structure, continuous learning, and most importantly, having fun. We wanted to better understand our dogs, their communication, drive, reactivity, and individual personalities, so we could work with them instead of against them.

We spent countless hours training at homes, parks, and fields, sharing ideas and exploring obedience, agility, scent detection, confidence building, and enrichment. Every dog taught us something new, and every handler brought a perspective that helped us grow.

Delta K9 has never been about creating just another dog training company. We believe the best learning happens when people feel supported, encouraged, and connected. What started as a group of people having fun with their dogs has grown into a community where clients become friends, and friends become family.

Today, Delta K9 is more than a training company. We're a family united by our love for dogs, our passion for learning, and our commitment to helping one another succeed. Together, we're building confident dogs, knowledgeable handlers, and a community that grows stronger every day.

At Delta K9, our goal is to help dogs thrive both in class and in the real world. Rather than practicing in controlled environments alone, our team members regularly step in to help recreate realistic situations you'll encounter in daily life. Dog training should work with your regular life, not against it.

Whether it's walking through crowds, passing unfamiliar dogs, greeting new people, navigating distractions, or working through challenging behaviors, we create safe, structured training scenarios that build lasting confidence. Every lesson is designed to build confidence, improve communication, and strengthen the relationship between handler and dog long after training has ended.

We proudly offer opportunities beyond traditional obedience through community events, school demonstrations, tracking programs, service dog development, working dog sports, partnerships with local organizations, and more! Our mission is to expand what people believe is possible with their dogs while giving back to the communities that support us.

Meet Your Trainers

Micheal Figueroa Head K9 Trainer Specialities: Reactivity, Tracking, Protection

Growing up in the South Bronx, serving in the United States Marine Corps, and working in law enforcement taught me discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and service. Those lessons became the foundation of Delta K9 Training. As a law enforcement K9 officer, I learned that successful teamwork between a handler and dog is built on trust, consistency, communication, and understanding. My continued training, including work at Orchard Knoll K9 in North Carolina with my K9 partner Nitro in explosives detection and tracking, reinforced the importance of preparation, realistic training, and never stopping the learning process. Eventually, I wanted to bring those lessons beyond law enforcement and help everyday dog owners better understand their dogs, overcome challenges, and discover what they could accomplish together. That vision became Delta K9 Training.

Alexis Lamb Lead K9 Trainer Specialities: Obedience, Service dogs, Reactivity + Fear

Being raised in Brooklyn, NY, I took a somewhat unconventional path to becoming a dog trainer. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in veterinary offices, training facilities, dog daycares, canine rehabilitation centers, shelters, and the ASPCA, while spending more than a decade studying under experienced trainers and mentors. Every experience taught me something new, not just about dogs, but about the relationships we build with them. I learned the value of patience, accountability, communication, and respect, while also learning that training should be something you and your dog genuinely enjoy. After 17 years and hundreds of dogs, I’ve had the privilege of seeing just how much these incredible animals are capable of. That’s what drives me to share what I’ve learned with others. I want people to see their dogs as more than pets, but as partners they can confidently experience life with.

Kim White K9 Trainer Specialities: Obedience, Puppy Raising

My journey into dog training started with my own dogs. I had always had dogs throughout my life, but with my most recent German Shepherd, I wanted to take a different approach. Instead of sending him away to be trained, I wanted to be involved in the process—to learn how to communicate with him, understand his behavior, and build a stronger relationship along the way. After working with the Delta K9 team, I loved the process so much that I started seeing doors open for me to get involved in training on a whole new level. What started as wanting to better train my own dog quickly became a passion for helping other dogs and their owners. I graduated the DKT Trainer Apprenticeship program in August of 2026 and now help to guide others to have stronger relationships with their dogs too.
